When I started traveling I was attracted by popular places in an attempt to see with my own eyes what I had only seen in books, internet, tv or films. My first trips had busy itineraries, long lists of places to see and take selfies, long shopping lists and little time to live the experience.
Time, however, taught me to be fully present. I wake up early and go slow, walk with open senses, take photos only when I am truly impressed, leave time to take on the memories with my own eyes, not through the lenses of my camera, and meet locals because they become friends. It is about living the moment and not just passing by, then a trip becomes a story of a lifetime.
Come with me on this trip through my trips, imagine what I am telling while you read the story, because reading is another way of traveling.
